A new castle lord picks an origin, then trains six skills: martial arts, oratory, tea ceremony, arithmetic, smithing and construction. Martial training opens sword schools such as Shinkage-ryu and Ittō-ryu, and can yield rare equipment. Battles come down to officer pairings, with troop-type counters and a wide pool of tactics. Clans of up to 200 members attack castles together on an island battlefield. Fighting is the core, so leisurely exploration of NPC encounters and tea or sword scenes stays a side activity.

Choose a starting origin as the lord of your castle
