Over 600 golf balls can be collected, and each one has its own characteristics. That matters because shots are tuned around wind, slope and ball spin. Matches run 9 or 18 holes against players worldwide, and Quick 9 tournaments skip the wait for an opponent's move. Arcade modes such as Checkpoint Challenge and Golden Shot reward winning streaks. Courses are real, including Pebble Beach and St Andrews Links. Club upgrades matter, so progress depends partly on gear.
