A player sends a squad of generals against a resource tile, relying on the troop type that counters the defenders. Spoils go into the main city, which grows from a single settlement into a base with stronger buildings. The map has over a million tiles and more than a hundred historical cities, passes and docks to capture. Each general carries tactics that can be swapped between squads. Progress depends on slow city growth and alliance coordination.
