South of Midnight Review
Hazel, the lead character, is a Weaver who mends broken bonds, and her main tool is weaving magic. A hurricane tears through her hometown of Prospero, and she heads into a Southern Gothic world built from folklore to rescue her mother. Combat means subduing hostile Haints and restoring the creatures behind them. Everything is single player, with no co-op. It comes to Xbox Series X|S and PC, and Game Pass includes it, so Southern folklore and a story-led third-person adventure suit the shape of this one.
